Snæfellsjökull Glacier Summit Trek

Stand on the peak that watches over Snæfellsnes. This side event takes guests up Snæfellsjökull, the glacier-capped volcano that crowns the peninsula, rising 1,446 meters above sea level and visible from Reykjavik on a clear day. It's the summit that inspired Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Earth. This is a serious mountaineering day, not a beginner hike, so guests should be in good health and comfortable with sustained uphill walking.

Includes:

• Limited to 10 guests, led by two certified glacier guides
• Roughly 760 meters of elevation gain over about 8 kilometers of glacier terrain
• A six to eight hour round trip: rope up, strap into crampons, ice axe in hand
• Roundtrip transportation from the festival site
• All glacier gear: crampons, harness, and ice axe
